Sandpiper Construction
Sandpiper is a utility contractor for Lower Mainland municipalities in British Columbia. It has 17 different vehicles equipped with GPS locators. Sandpiper has to leave vehicle assets on job sites for extended periods of time. They have had them stolen before, and were frustrated with the thefts, with the delays in insurance payments, and with the time lost on the job and in having to replace their assets. Recently, employees at Sandpiper Contracting came to work one Monday morning and discovered one of their backhoes had been stolen over the weekend from a jobsite. In a few minutes they had located it parked on the side of a road in Mission BC and informed the police as to its whereabouts. The employees went there, and met the Mission RCMP at the backhoe, recovered it, and carried on back to work. Down time was minimized due to the efficiency of tracking the asset promptly. |
University of Toronto Police
University of Toronto Police recently chose Nero Global Tracking asset tracking system for a bicycle crime prevention program. Faced with a large number of bike thefts, they installed GPS beacons on "bait" bicycles and tracked them with our software. Peter Franchi, the corporal in charge of the program says, " It was a hit. We had our first arrest in four hours and have had up to four in one day. And we've had nothing but positive feedback from the program." Franchi also adds that," The system was incredibly easy to use. Nero Global provided online training and we installed everything ourselves. It is very user friendly. When a bike was stolen, we'd track it and have print-offs of exact times and routes taken. That's great 3rd party evidence to present to a judge." |
